What You Submit to Finley
When you ask Finley a question, FinanceIQ combines two things into a single prompt:
- Your question. The text you typed.
- Relevant financial data from your NetSuite connection. For example, the income statement rows, transaction details, or KPI values needed to answer your question.
We pull this data from your authorized NetSuite OAuth connection at query time. We do not bulk-export your NetSuite ledger to Finley; only the data needed to answer the specific question is sent.
Where the Prompt Goes
The combined prompt is sent over an encrypted (TLS) connection to the paid tier of the Google Gemini API, which is FinanceIQ's current large language model provider. Gemini processes the prompt, generates a response, and returns it to FinanceIQ. FinanceIQ then displays the response to you in the Finley conversation panel.
What Google Does and Does Not Do with Your Data
Because FinanceIQ uses the paid tier of the Gemini API:
- Google does not use your prompts or responses to improve Google's products or to train Google's AI models. This is a contractual commitment in Google's Gemini API paid-services terms.
- Google may temporarily retain inputs and outputs only for limited operational purposes, such as abuse monitoring, service delivery, and meeting legal obligations, as described in those same terms.
- Google does not share your data with other Google services or third parties beyond what is required to operate the Gemini API.
You can review Google's terms directly at https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms.
What FinanceIQ Does and Does Not Do with Your Data
- We do not train any of our own AI models on Customer Data.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or model training.
- We do temporarily log query metadata (e.g., timestamp, user ID, error codes) for service monitoring, debugging, and abuse prevention. These logs do not contain the contents of your NetSuite ledger.
- We do use aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (such as "how often Finley is used across our customer base") for product improvement, with no ability to identify individual customers or queries.
Encryption
All communication between your browser, FinanceIQ, and the Google Gemini API is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Retention
- In FinanceIQ. Your conversation history with Finley is stored in your FinanceIQ account so you can revisit prior answers. You can delete a conversation at any time. When you cancel your account, conversation history is deleted along with the rest of your data, per our Privacy Policy (Section 7).
- At Google. As described above, Google retains data only for limited operational purposes under the Gemini API paid-services terms.
How to Use Finley Safely
Finley is a powerful research and analysis assistant. It is not a replacement for professional judgment.
- Verify important numbers. Finley's answers are grounded in your real NetSuite data, but AI outputs can contain inaccuracies in interpretation or context. Always verify before acting on a Finley answer for material decisions.
- Don't use Finley for tax, legal, or compliance advice. Finley is a financial analysis tool, not a licensed professional. For decisions in those areas, consult qualified advisors.
- Be mindful of what you ask. Finley reads the data needed to answer your question and sends it to a third-party LLM provider. If you would not be comfortable with specific data being sent to Google's Gemini API, don't ask Finley about it.
Changes to This Disclosure
If FinanceIQ changes its LLM provider, changes the Gemini API tier in use, or makes any other material change to how Finley handles data, we will update this page and notify customers in accordance with our Privacy Policy (Section 12).
